Composting food waste with Bokashi.

Every kitcen produces waste!

No matter how careful you are there is always a certain amount of waste after the preparation of fruit and vegetables.Over many years I had been composting food waste in a conventional heap ,until about 6yrs ago I came across an article on the Bokashi method of composting and I was hooked!! Not only could I compost vege and fruit scraps, but meat, all left over food, coffee grounds and teabags. In fact pretty much anything except Liquids eg milk, oils, soup, and juices. and of course no plastics glass polystyrene etc.

Easy to use, no smell, and environmentally friendly,Bokashi is just a great method of using your organic waste to fertilse your garden. The only equipment that is needed are a two 10ltre Bokashi buckets and i kilo bag of Bokashi Zing

Bokashi is a Japanese word that means fermented organic matter, and that is what happens, all the food scraps ferment. The Zing is made from sawdust that has had microorganisms added to it and that starts the fermentation process. As a means of composting food waste this has got to be No.1
